Highly saline groundwater water - Density Transport Simulations

Objective:  To examine density-dependent solute transport simulation from saline water disposal/evaporation basins; aquifer storage and recovery under hyper-saline conditions and skimming well hydraulics simulations.

Simulation of saline water evaporation basin solute migration.

Simulation depicts a small evaporation basin with high density saline water underlain by an aquifer with the watertable shown by a white horizontal line.
The red line separates a clay layer overlying a fine to coarse sandy aquifer.
Simulation is for a time period of many years accelerated to about 2.5 seconds in this example.
The simulation uses aquifer characteristics and parameters from an actual field site.
